It would be great to be able to set a default mail type (--mail-type flag) in Slurm so that users when they request mail but are naive about selecting type don't get blasted with tons of email unless they actually want it.
Sounds reasonable, retagging as an enhancement request.
Paul - One suggestion - have you tried altering the mail_type within a job_submit plugin? Doug's cli_filter work (possibly available in 18.08) may also cover some of this use case by letting you set per-user default options. (Bug 3745.)
We talked about this internally. I wasn't sure if that was exposed to the Lua script. It is a possibility though. I will take a look. -Paul Edmon- On 04/05/2018 02:00 PM, bugs@schedmd.com wrote: > > *Comment # 3 <https://bugs.schedmd.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5031#c3> on bug > 5031 <https://bugs.schedmd.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5031> from Tim Wickberg > <mailto:tim@schedmd.com> * > Paul - > > One suggestion - have you tried altering the mail_type within a job_submit > plugin? > > Doug's cli_filter work (possibly available in 18.08) may also cover some of > this use case by letting you set per-user default options.
