Description Chris Samuel (NERSC) 2021-05-14 23:30:47 MDT
Hi there,

This request is one Tim requested I file in response to a question of mine in the CUG Slurm BoF today - I've been asked me about how our staff can know what incoming job caused a running job to be preempted (because of how we plan to use MaxStartDelay in production).

Ideally they'd like to see that recorded in slurmdbd, but it would also be great if it was present in the preempted jobs job record so that our jobcomp/lua plugin could write it into the AdminComment that some of our tooling parses.

All the best,
Chris

Thanks for following up. I'm tagging this as an enhancement request for now, I don't have an immediate plan to add this in but I'm certainly willing to look at any proposed patches and/or discuss sponsorship.

- Tim

Thanks Tim - I had meant to mark it as an enhancement but must have missed it when filing.
