Description Sathishkumar 2020-12-01 10:07:42 MST
Hi Team,

I have a question regarding fairshare, assume that I am part of "hpc" account and there are several other users are also part of hpc account. I have a dedicated reservation only for me. If I submit jobs to the dedicated reservation, does the fairshare of the other users part of hpc account will get impacted ? If yes, is there any way (other than creating a separate account) can I ignore the jobs submitted to the reservation for fairshare calculation ?

Thanks
Sathish

Hi Sathish,

I'm afraid there isn't an option like you're asking for. Usage in an account counts against that account, whether it's in a reservation or not. There are ways to control how usage in an account affects the fairshare calculation, but these can't be limited to just reservations in that account. The alternative you mention (creating a separate account for the reservation usage) is what I would recommend if you have usage in a reservation that you don't want to have affect the stats of a particular account. Please let me know if you have questions about this.

Thanks,
Ben
