Description Paul Edmon 2018-04-05 11:45:42 MDT
It would be great to be able to set a default mail type (--mail-type flag) in Slurm so that users when they request mail but are naive about selecting type don't get blasted with tons of email unless they actually want it.
Comment 1 Tim Wickberg 2018-04-05 11:49:08 MDT
Sounds reasonable, retagging as an enhancement request.
Comment 3 Tim Wickberg 2018-04-05 12:00:31 MDT
Paul -

One suggestion - have you tried altering the mail_type within a job_submit plugin?

Doug's cli_filter work (possibly available in 18.08) may also cover some of this use case by letting you set per-user default options. (Bug 3745.)
Comment 4 Paul Edmon 2018-04-05 12:05:15 MDT
We talked about this internally.  I wasn't sure if that was exposed to
the Lua script.  It is a possibility though.  I will take a look.
